Light-transmitting tiles, also known as transparent tiles or light-transmitting panels, are a type of translucent material used on building roofs or walls to introduce natural light, enhance indoor lighting effects and reduce energy consumption.
Core Categories and Characteristics
It is mainly classified into four categories by material:
FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) skylight panels: The most widely used type, composed of high-performance upper film, reinforced polyester and glass fiber, featuring corrosion resistance, aging resistance, impact resistance and low cost.
PC (Polycarbonate) skylight sheet: The maximum light transmittance can reach 89%, the impact strength is 250-300 times that of ordinary glass, and it has excellent weather resistance, suitable for high-end buildings.
PVC skylight panels: They have a relatively low cost and good light transmission performance, but their weather resistance is relatively weak.
PET/UPVC skylight sheets: Each has specific application scenarios.

Temperature adaptability: It performs stably within the range of -40℃ to 120℃, without any softening at high temperatures or embrittlement at low temperatures.
Optical performance: Soft light transmission, with a diffused light effect, effectively blocks the vast majority of ultraviolet rays.
Safety performance: It has flame retardancy (difficult to burn, B1 grade), does not produce molten droplets in case of fire, and helps with personnel evacuation.
Application scenarios
It is mainly applied in the roof and wall lighting of industrial plants, the insulation and lighting of agricultural vegetable greenhouses, the roof lighting of public sports venues, as well as in areas such as warehouses, greenhouses, and stations that require natural lighting.
